India and Canada Launch Trade and Investment Forum

India and Canada have established a trade and investment forum to enhance commercial engagement between the two nations, as stated in a joint announcement on May 29, 2026. This initiative follows a three-day visit by Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, who met with business leaders and Canada's Minister of International Trade, Maninder Sidhu. The forum aims to foster new partnerships and increase business interactions. Both countries are committed to advancing a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), with negotiations expected to conclude by the end of this year. The agreement is anticipated to improve market access and support economic growth. Canada will also lead a Team Canada Trade Mission to India later this year.
