India and Canada Aim to Conclude CEPA Negotiations by 2026

India and Canada have committed to enhancing bilateral trade and investment, targeting the conclusion of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) negotiations by the end of 2026. This announcement was made during the India-Canada Trade and Investment Forum, where both nations discussed collaboration in sectors such as clean energy, critical minerals, and digital technologies. Canada’s international trade minister, Maninder Sidhu, noted the presence of the largest Indian delegation ever sent abroad, indicating a strengthening of commercial relations. The forum aims to facilitate new partnerships and investments, with Canada planning a 'Team Canada' trade mission to India later this year. Both countries agreed to encourage long-term investments and maintain regular dialogue to advance economic cooperation.
