India Calls for Peace in West Asia and Ukraine Amid Ongoing Conflicts
India has urged for an early resolution to the ongoing wars in West Asia and Ukraine, advocating for peace through dialogue. Prime Minister Narendra Modi made the statement during discussions with Finnish President Alexander Stubb in New Delhi. The leaders emphasized that military hostilities cannot resolve issues, with Modi highlighting the importance of cooperation between India and Europe for global stability. They signed a memorandum of understanding on migration and mobility, aiming to enhance opportunities for Indian students in Finland. Additionally, they agreed to double bilateral trade by 2030 and strengthen collaboration in sectors like defence, technology, and sustainability. Despite a decline in two-way trade from $2.02 billion in 2022-23 to $1.31 billion in 2024-25, both nations aim to bolster their strategic partnership.
