India Calls for Accountability Over Protests in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir

India's Ministry of External Affairs has urged the international community to hold Pakistan accountable for its actions in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The appeal follows reports of excessive force used against civilians during ongoing protests, which have been driven by economic hardship and calls for accountability from the Pakistan government. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal condemned police brutality, including actions against women and children, and highlighted issues such as blocked essential supplies and internet blackouts. Protests have intensified following a ban on the Joint Awami Action Committee under anti-terrorism laws. Demonstrations were also reported from the Jammu and Kashmir community in the US, seeking intervention amid the humanitarian crisis.
