Kashmiri Pandits Lay Foundation for Ram Temple in Shopian
On Saturday, Kashmiri Pandits laid the foundation stone for a Ram Temple in Tak Mohalla, Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir. The site, historically significant to the community, was reclaimed after being encroached upon following a fire in 1989. Hundreds attended the ceremony, performing traditional rituals. The Department of Archaeology and Heritage has allocated funds for the temple's construction as part of its heritage conservation initiative. Community members expressed that the temple's reconstruction would help restore a religious site linked to their historical presence in the region.
