Indian Government Pauses Adani Airport's International Flight Transition Plans
The Indian government has temporarily halted Adani Airport's plan to shift 265 international flight slots from Mumbai's Terminal 2 to Navi Mumbai. This decision follows opposition from airlines, which argued that the proposed transition would be operationally challenging. The civil aviation ministry has given stakeholders until October 20 to develop a coordinated transition plan amid the redevelopment of Terminal 1 at Mumbai airport. The proposed changes would affect 46 carriers, with IndiGo facing the largest cuts of 74 slots. The next discussions are scheduled for October 13, where a detailed plan for the transition will be addressed.
