General NS Raja Subramani Becomes India's New Chief of Defence Staff

Gen NS Raja Subramani has taken over as India's Chief of Defence Staff, succeeding Gen Anil Chauhan. His primary responsibilities include implementing the military theaterisation plan and enhancing tri-services synergy. Previously, Gen Subramani served as Military Advisor at the National Security Council Secretariat and retired as Vice Chief of Army Staff on July 31 last year. With over 40 years of military experience, he has held various command and staff positions, including leading operations in Jammu and Kashmir and Assam. Gen Subramani aims to accelerate the development and integration of indigenous weapon systems into the armed forces. He has received multiple awards for his distinguished service, including the Param Vishisht Seva Medal and the Sena Medal.
