Finland Enhances Border Defenses Amid Russian Military Rebuild
Finland is exploring anti-tank obstacles similar to those used in Ukraine to strengthen its 1,340-kilometer border with Russia. As Russia rebuilds its military capacity, Finland aims to deter potential attacks by enhancing its defenses. The Finnish Army has trained 60,000 personnel in readiness since the onset of the Ukraine conflict. Finland's military overhaul, set to continue until the 2030s, will match its €11.6 billion investment in Navy and Air Force programs. Key upgrades include expanding its K9 self-propelled howitzer fleet and acquiring 64 F-35A fighters. The focus is on creating a sustainable and technologically advanced military capability to counter threats effectively.
