Supreme Court to Hear Petitions on Ram Temple Donation Theft
The Supreme Court will hear petitions on July 13 seeking a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into alleged donation theft at the Ram temple in Ayodhya. The petitions demand a comprehensive forensic audit of the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust's finances, following allegations of misappropriation and improper counting practices. Eight individuals have been arrested amid ongoing investigations, which revealed serious security lapses in the donation counting process. The Uttar Pradesh government had previously formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the allegations. Petitioners are calling for enhanced public transparency, including the publication of donation records on the Trust's official website. The hearing will address concerns raised by the petitioners regarding the integrity of the Trust's financial management.
