Dentist Aids Indian Pilot Stabbed Mid-Flight on Flydubai Flight
Smit Machchhar, the Indian pilot of flydubai FZ1073, was stabbed by his co-pilot during a flight to Tel Aviv. Dentist Shota Musaev, who was on board, recounted spending 45 minutes trying to save Machchhar, who suffered severe bleeding from his head and left hand. Musaev used multiple T-shirts and ice to control the bleeding, noting that Machchhar's pulse dropped dangerously low at one point. The incident, described as a 'terrorist' attack by a UAE official, involved the co-pilot Hammam al-Hammami attempting to take control of the aircraft. Passengers intervened, pinning down the co-pilot. Machchhar later communicated with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expressing his determination to ensure passenger safety despite his injuries.
