Delhi Police Investigates Suicide of Class 10 Student Amid Harassment Claims
Delhi Police are investigating the suicide of a 16-year-old Class 10 student from a reputed school in central Delhi. The police have identified five friends of the deceased and are examining CCTV footage that reportedly shows a teacher humiliating him. Four staff members have been suspended following allegations of mental harassment. The student’s father filed an FIR claiming that his son jumped from the Rajendra Place Metro Station due to continuous mistreatment by teachers. The National Human Rights Commission has requested an action report within 10 days. In response to public concern, Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood announced the formation of an investigation committee and emphasized the need for schools to monitor students' mental health.
