Centre to Implement Comprehensive Sex Education After Supreme Court Approval
The Centre has informed the Supreme Court of its decision to implement comprehensive sex education in schools and colleges nationwide, pending court approval. This follows recommendations from a 26-member expert committee, which examined issues related to adolescent privacy rights under the POCSO Act. The committee also suggested appointing dedicated teachers for mandatory classes twice a week and conducting workshops for parents and teachers. The Supreme Court will review the recommendations and issue an order.
