Delhi Couple Arrested for Alleged Espionage Links with Pakistan
Delhi Police Special Cell arrested 25-year-old Md. Sahil and his 21-year-old wife, Sameera, for allegedly aiding a Pakistan-based espionage network. The couple reportedly procured eight Indian SIM cards and provided logistical support to Pakistani handlers. They were allegedly recruited via social media in 2024 and received ₹30,000 for the SIM cards, which were used to gather information in India. The investigation began after identifying an ISI-backed network in Delhi-NCR. Forensic analysis of their mobile phones revealed incriminating conversations with Pakistani agents. Sahil, who has a BA degree, and Sameera, who completed her Class 12, were both unemployed at the time of their arrest.
