DK Shivakumar Elected Congress Legislature Party Leader in Karnataka

DK Shivakumar has been elected as the leader of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) in Karnataka, paving the way for his appointment as Chief Minister. The decision was made during a meeting at Vidhana Soudha, where outgoing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah proposed Shivakumar's name, which was seconded by G. Parameshwara. The election was unanimous. Shivakumar is set to take oath on June 3. Siddaramaiah resigned on May 28, and will serve as caretaker until the new government is formed.
