Cyber Crime Police Investigate Intrusion Targeting Dam Safety Organisation
The Central Division Cyber Crime Police are investigating a suspected cyber intrusion involving the Dam Safety Organisation and the State Project Management Unit (SPMU) of the Dam Rehabilitation and Improvement Project (DRIP). A complaint was filed by the Chief Engineer's office after the Chief Information Security Officer reported that certain IP addresses linked to SPMU-DRIP were communicating with a suspected malicious IP address. This activity raises concerns about unauthorized access to government systems and confidential data. The police are examining network logs and digital evidence to determine if any systems were compromised. They are also working to trace the source of the malicious IP address and identify those responsible for the intrusion.
