Missing Crew After Drone Strike on Bulgarian Ship in Black Sea
Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev confirmed that the crew of a ship that sank following a drone strike in the Black Sea is missing. The attack occurred approximately 80 miles off Bulgaria's coast, targeting two commercial vessels. Rescue teams are searching for the missing sailors about 150 kilometres east of Byala. At least 18 crew members from the second vessel were evacuated, with two suffering severe injuries. The Togo-flagged vessel Alfa Watan sank due to severe structural damage. These incidents raise concerns over maritime safety in the Black Sea amid ongoing tensions from Russia's war in Ukraine, which has seen 226 civilian and commercial ships attacked since the conflict began.
