Couple Arrested in Manipur for Killing Six Naga Civilians
A couple, Pradip and Ayinghi, was arrested in Manipur's Kangpokpi district during a joint operation by the NIA, state police, and CRPF. They are suspected of involvement in the killing of six Naga civilians on May 13 in Leilon Vaiphei village. The six were part of 20 Naga individuals abducted following twin ambushes that resulted in four deaths, including three church leaders. The bodies of the six Naga civilians were discovered on June 10. Ethnic tensions in Manipur have escalated since the incidents, leading to the deaths of at least 260 people and displacing around 60,000. The ongoing conflict involves multiple communities, including Meitei and Kuki groups.
