Navy Chief Emphasises Self-Reliance in Defence Industrial Capacity
Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi highlighted the need for countries to prepare for security challenges by developing their own defence industrial complexes. Speaking at the 2026 Raisina Dialogue in New Delhi, he noted that the concept of 'short and decisive wars' is being questioned due to recent global conflicts. Tripathi stressed the importance of rapid adaptation and technological advancement in military production, stating that countries must manage inventory effectively and maintain surge capacity. He also mentioned India's commitment to self-reliance, or Atmanirbharta, in defence, and the importance of co-development and co-production with partner nations, including Russia.
