Parliament to Discuss Bill for State Assembly Delimitation on April 16
The Constitution (One Hundred and Thirty-First Amendment) Bill, 2026, aims to change the size and composition of State Legislative Assemblies by restarting delimitation. This process will remove a constitutional freeze on seat readjustment based on population that has been in place since 1976. The Bill is set to be introduced in a Special Session of Parliament starting on April 16.
