Canadian Trade Minister Sidhu Visits India to Advance Trade Talks

Canadian Trade Minister Maninder Sidhu will arrive in India on Monday for his second visit in less than a month. This trip aims to expedite negotiations for the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s anticipated visit to Canada in December. Indian and Canadian negotiators are expected to meet multiple times in November to address outstanding issues. The goal is to conclude the CEPA negotiations by the end of next month, with a target of raising bilateral trade to $70 billion by 2030. Sidhu's delegation, the largest Canada has sent to India in over 30 years, includes nearly 300 members from various sectors, including aerospace and clean technologies.
