Cabinet Establishes Integrated Transport Logistics Authority for Unified Planni…

The Union Cabinet has approved the formation of the Integrated Transport and Logistics Authority (ITLA) to create long-term transport plans and appraise projects exceeding ₹500 crore. ITLA will develop a National Transport Master Plan with a planning horizon of 10 years or more, integrating data across various transport sectors including roads, railways, and aviation. The authority will also monitor major projects and assess the impact of completed infrastructure initiatives. This move aligns with the government's ongoing efforts to enhance multimodal infrastructure planning, building on the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan and the National Logistics Policy aimed at improving logistics efficiency and reducing costs.
