Bihar and UP on High Alert Amid Nepal Floods

Bihar and Uttar Pradesh are on high alert following deadly flash floods in Nepal that have killed at least 160 people. More than 300 Indians are reported missing. The floods, originating from the Bhote Koshi River, have raised concerns about rising water levels in the Gandak River. Local authorities are conducting inspections and monitoring the situation closely. Evacuations are underway in vulnerable areas, and residents have been advised to move to higher ground. The Valmiki Nagar barrage in Bihar recorded a peak discharge of approximately 1.50 lakh cusec, but officials report that water levels have since stabilised. The Union home minister has assured support to Bihar's chief minister amid the crisis.
