Indian Armed Forces Ready for Operation Sindoor 2.0, Says Army Chief

Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi confirmed on May 30, 2026, that the Indian armed forces are prepared for 'Operation Sindoor 2.0' if necessary. This statement was made during a press conference at the National Defence Academy in Pune. General Dwivedi highlighted that all three military services are enhancing their coordination for modern multi-domain warfare, which includes land, air, sea, space, and cyber operations. He noted a temporary cessation of hostilities but emphasized ongoing preparations for future conflicts. The Indian Army had previously launched Operation Sindoor in May 2025 in response to the Pahalgam terror attack that resulted in 26 fatalities in April. General Dwivedi also remarked on the increasing transparency of modern battlefields, necessitating cautious military deployments and protective measures for troops and civilians.
