Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit to Become 29th Chief of Air Staff
Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit will assume the role of the 29th Chief of the Air Staff on October 31, succeeding Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh. Currently serving as Vice Chief of the Air Staff, Dixit has over 3,500 hours of flying experience and has been instrumental in the development of the indigenous Light Combat Aircraft Tejas. His tenure will last until December 31, 2028. Dixit has held various senior command positions and participated in significant military operations. He has received multiple military awards, including the Param Vishisht Seva Medal in 2026, one of India's highest military honours. Dixit is also an Experimental Test Pilot and a Qualified Flying Instructor.
