India Seeks Consensus Among Brics Nations Ahead of Upcoming Summit
India is in discussions with Brics member states to reach a consensus declaration for the upcoming summit in New Delhi on September 12-13. The talks are focused on the West Asia conflict, particularly the differences between Iran and the UAE. Key topics include territorial integrity, maritime commerce, and civilian protection. The summit will feature leaders such as Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Previous meetings, including a foreign ministers’ gathering in May, faced challenges due to disagreements, particularly regarding Iran's blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, which affects global oil supply. India aims to strengthen intra-Brics cooperation and has organised over 350 meetings across 25 cities to enhance partnerships in various sectors.
