Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting humanitarian aid for flood-affected Nepal. In his letter dated August 28, Kharge highlighted that floods have resulted in over 500 deaths and nearly 1,000 people missing. He noted that thousands require urgent assistance, including food and shelter. Kharge also expressed concern for around 320 Indian nationals uncontactable in Nepal and called for intensified rescue efforts. He suggested deploying National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams to assist in relief operations, emphasizing the importance of a coordinated response with the Nepal government.
