Mamata Banerjee Accuses BJP of Hooliganism After Clashes in Kolkata
Eight individuals were reportedly injured during clashes outside Abhishek Banerjee's residence in Kolkata's Kalighat on Saturday. The incidents occurred between 2 am and 3:30 am, involving supporters of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Mamata Banerjee, former Chief Minister of West Bengal, accused the BJP of orchestrating the attack and disrupting local Kali Puja celebrations. She claimed that permissions for traditional pujas were revoked while new ones were allowed to block access to longstanding celebrations. Banerjee challenged the BJP, stating, 'Run your bulldozers over us,' in response to the alleged violence. The police have not confirmed party affiliations in the clashes but are investigating the incidents.
