Seven Individuals Booked in Karnataka for Terror Links and Arms Trafficking
Karnataka police have booked seven individuals, including three Pakistani nationals, for alleged connections to banned terrorist organisations and illegal arms trafficking. The FIR, registered on October 1, names Vishalkumar Vijaykumar Metre, 24, from Bhalki taluk, along with Shahzad Bhatti, Rana Hunain, and Nomi Khan from Pakistan. Investigators claim Metre used WhatsApp and Instagram to communicate with these individuals regarding arms trafficking. Police arrested Metre on Saturday after finding him in contact with members of designated terrorist groups. The case is registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, and police are examining digital evidence to assess the extent of the accused's activities. Surveillance on social media platforms has been increased to prevent radicalisation among youth.
