Airlines Cancel 180 Flights Amid West Asia Conflict

The cancellations included 39 departures and 34 arrivals at Mumbai, 33 flights at Bangalore, 29 at Delhi, and 7 at Kolkata. The civil aviation ministry reported that 281 flights scheduled by Indian domestic carriers were also cancelled on March 5. Airlines have begun limited operations, with Akasa Air planning flights from Mumbai to Jeddah and SpiceJet announcing 14 special flights from the UAE to repatriate stranded passengers. The conflict involving the U.S., Israel, and Iran has led to the closure of some airspace in the region.
