679,000 Children in India Missed Vaccination in 2025, WHO Reports

According to the WHO-UNICEF report, 679,000 children in India did not receive any vaccinations in their first year in 2025, contributing to a global total of 13.5 million 'zero-dose' children. While 90% of infants worldwide received at least one dose of the DTP vaccine, coverage remains below 2019 levels. The report indicates a drop-out rate where 7.3 million infants received their first DTP dose but did not complete the schedule. Despite some improvements, 65 countries are either stagnating or falling behind in vaccination rates. WHO and UNICEF are collaborating with Gavi to meet the global Immunisation Agenda 2030 goal, aiming to ensure vaccines reach all children, regardless of their circumstances.
